September 27, 2019 – The EPA this week threatened to start enforcing emissions rules that would force areas of California to cancel planned highway projects and either lose that funding or else build transit projects instead.

September 26, 2019 – Any Congressional hearing focusing on “America’s Infrastructure” is bound to be wide ranging. This week’s House Committee on the Budget hearing on the subject was no exception.

September 26, 2019 – The Federal Transit Administration signed a formal grant agreement this week with the Tempe, Arizona transit agency, promising $75 million in federal funding towards a new $192 million streetcar project.
The House of Representatives and Senate are scheduled to be in a two-week recess from September 30 – October 14, 2019 (the timing of the Jewish holidays, Columbus Day, and the end of the fiscal year all lined up to enable a two-weeker this year). No committee meetings are scheduled.
