February 4, 2021 – Yesterday, at long last, the U.S. Senate organized itself for the 117th Congress, one month after that Congress actually convened. A power-sharing agreement was adopted and members were finally named to committees (which are now all chaired by Democrats).

February 1, 2021 – Late on the night of January 29, the Centers for Disease Control issued a nationwide mandate requiring passengers and crew on all U.S. travel “conveyances,” and in all “transportation hubs,” to wear masks. The order takes effect at one minute before midnight tonight.
