The Eno Center for Transportation is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Aument to its Board of Directors. The Board is made up of distinguished leaders from across the transportation field and Directors bring expertise in all modes of transportation and experience in federal, state, and local government service, as well as the private sector.
“We are excited to welcome Jennifer Aument to our Board of Directors. She is an invaluable asset to this organization and we look forward to continuing to benefit from her experience and expertise,” says Eno President and CEO Robert Puentes.
Aument has served on Eno’s Board of Advisors since 2017. In 2020, Eno chose her to receive its Innovator Award for her pioneering work on roadway pricing in the Washington, DC region, as well as her activism on workforce issues, especially championing women in transportation. She has authored a number of articles for Eno Transportation Weekly, participated in Eno webinars, and presented to Eno’s Future Leaders Development Conference.
She has been with Transurban since 2006 and is currently President of the firm’s North American business where she oversaw the development of the $4 billion Express Lanes network in northern Virginia. Before Transurban, Jennifer worked for Bechtel Infrastructure to develop a major expansion of the Washington, DC Metrorail system. Later this year, she will join the infrastructure consulting firm AECOM as its Chief Executive of Global Transportation Business.
Eno Board Chair and former U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary James H. Burnley said, “Jennifer brings a wealth of talent, expertise, and fresh thinking to Eno’s Board and I look forward to working with her.”
Aument has testified before Congressional committees and was appointed to key positions by both Republican and Democratic governors in Virginia, including commissioner and executive committee member for the Virginia Port Authority. She was named among Women Builders Council Outstanding Women of 2015 and the Commercial Real Estate Women’s “Woman of Impact.” Jennifer served in a number of community leadership roles, including the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce and Northern Virginia Family Services.
