April 9, 2020 – The operators of toll roads, bridges, and express lanes have requested $9.2 billion in emergency federal financial aid to help them meet debt service obligations amidst plummeting toll revenues due to coronavirus.

April 9, 2020 – The beginnings of decreased demand for transportation were registered in the excise tax receipts deposited in the various federal transportation trust funds in March 2020, the financial reports of which became available this week.

April 3, 2020 – Seven days after President Trump signed the $2+ trillion coronavirus response bill (H.R. 748) into law, the Treasury Department and the Transportation Department are poised to start distributing some of the $88 billion in financial relief provided by that law for the aviation sector as early as next week.
