December 8, 2023 – The Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee yesterday approved the nomination of Todd Inman to be a member of the National Transportation Safety Board, raising hopes that Inman and another NTSB nominee can be confirmed by the full Senate by the end of the month.

December 8, 2023 – The $3.1 billion in new federal grants for the California high-speed rail project still leaves the California High Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) at least $7 billion short of having enough money to complete the initial operating segment from Merced to Bakersfield.
December 8, 2023 – Today, the Biden Administration is announcing $8.2 billion in grants for ten projects providing enhanced and new passenger rail service in the coming years outside the Northeast Corridor as part of its implementation of the bipartisan infrastructure law.
