Study Commissioned by Congress Recommends Increasing Airport PFC Cap by $3 per Passenger

January 16, 2020 – A new study from the RAND Corporation, commissioned by Congress in 2018, recommends that the statutory maximum passenger facility charge (PFC) levied by airports be increased from $4.50 per passenger to $7.50 per passenger, that the increase be limited to originating airports only, and that the new $7.50 cap be indexed for inflation (tied to the Producer Price Index for construction materials) thereafter.

January 8, 2020 – The Trump Administration today released the fourth iteration of a federal government policy statement on automated vehicles (AVs). The document, entitled Ensuring American Leadership in Automated Vehicle Technologies, was unveiled by Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao and U.S. Chief Technology Officer Michael Kratsios in a presentation at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
