“It’s clear that climate is going to be a major focus,” Robert Puentes said.
“Transit is going through a catastrophic moment, and it’s hard to overstate how challenging the threats are,” said Robert Puentes.
But it’s the entire ecosystem around airports that faces workforce disruption, said Robert Puentes, president and CEO of the Eno Center for Transportation, a nonprofit think tank.
“Congestion is one of the key criteria that riders might consider,” Puentes says. “If the bus is stuck in traffic along with regular traffic, it’s not really much of an advantage.”
“Puentes says that commuter rails that exist to bring white-collar workers into an urban core have seen ridership plummet as much as 97%, while the overall figure for rail systems is more like 90%.”
Infrastructure needs to ride into larger national priorities such as climate change or the pandemic, said Robert Puentes, president and CEO of the Eno Center for Transportation.
