James Gutierrez is an award-winning, international business, education, and leadership professional, working in executive positions with various leading businesses, non-profits, and government agencies across five continents.

He is the Founding Partner of Slate Inc., a business development and executive consulting firm, which locally contextualizes world-class tools to drive measurable results for growth-oriented professionals and organizations. He previously was the Managing Director for Fullbridge, a global education company, launching and leading the entity’s Africa operations.

James formerly was the Director of Operations for Verge Fund, an early & growth-stage high-tech Venture Capital firm, and worked with the Management Teams for Olympics and Paralympics in Greece and China. He was honored as a Fulbright Scholar in Uruguay and worked in the Executive Office of the President at the White House. James has successfully taught tens of thousands of professionals from wide-ranging organizations such as GE, AMD, SciencesPo University, UCLA, XPO, Peace Corps, University of Cape Town, Potential Energy, Mastercard Foundation, Georgetown University, among many others.

He advised the Transportation Committee for the NM legislature and has taught Adaptive Leadership with Dr. Ron Heifetz at the Harvard Kennedy School.

He holds graduate degrees in Business (MBA) and Public Policy (MPP) with a focus on International and Global Affairs respectively from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University.
