November 5, 2021 – On November 4, the House of Representatives passed a bill (H.R. 4679) naming the U.S. Department of Transportation headquarters building after former Transportation Secretary (and former Congressman, and longtime Eno Center Board of Directors member) Norman Mineta.
November 5, 2021 – The Joint Committee on Taxation has officially estimated that the cost to the Treasury of the revised electric vehicle purchase tax credit of up to $12,500 per vehicle would total $9.2 billion over the next decade. This estimate uses assumptions about EV sales far below the targets set by President Biden.

October 29, 2021 – Last night, the U.S. House and Senate have both agreed to another one-month extension of federal surface transportation funding authorizations. The new bill (H.R. 5763), a simple and policy-free extension through midnight on December 3, passed the House by a vote of 358-59, and the Senate had pre-cleared the bill by unanimous consent, meaning that the legislation is being sent straight to President Biden for signature.
