July 4, 2022 – As predicted in the Seattle Times on June 9, President Biden on July 6 announced that he has selected Phil Washington, the head of the Denver International Airport, to be his nominee to serve a five-year term as Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration.
July 14, 2022 – On July 7, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced 91 airport terminal development grants totaling $969 million, from funding provided for this new program by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 (IIJA).
