House Committee Discusses Electrification: Now or NEVI?
April 30th, 2024 – Chairman Rick Crawford (R-AR) convened the House Highways and Transit Subcommittee to hear testimony related to vehicle electrification. For the hearing, cleverly titled, “It’s Electric: A Review of Fleet Electrification Efforts,” the subcommittee welcomed four panelists covering different areas within electrification.

Update on Eno President/CEO Search
May 3, 2024 – The Eno Center for Transportation announced that Robert Puentes, Eno’s President/CEO will depart the organization on May 29, 2024. In June he will join the Brookings Institution as Vice President and Director, Brookings Metro.

May 3, 2024 – With the death of President William Henry Harrison after a mere 31 days in office, Vice President John Tyler became the first person elevated to the presidency after a president’s death and is largely responsible for the precedent that exists today of a vice president being sworn in as president.
Maryland Bridge Replacement to Cost $1.7-$1.9B; Progressive Design-Build to Be Used
May 2, 2024 – Maryland officials told the media yesterday that the replacement cost for the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore is now between $1.7 and $1.9 billion, and that the state hopes to have a replacement structure in place by 2028 by using the “progressive design-build” engineering technique.
