March 17, 2016 – USDOT announced seven finalists for a “Smart Cities” challenge. The winner will get up to $40 million in Federal funds and another $10 million from Vulcan Inc., founded by Paul Allen, to one mid-sized U.S. city to help them address the challenges associated the growing demands on transportation infrastructure

March 9, 2016 – Eno has launched a new reference page about public-private partnerships (P3s), including Eno’s past work as the P3 Working Group (now the Transportation Finance Working Group). The reference page provides a one-stop shop for transportation P3 resources, including research reports and technical assistance for state and local governments.
Eno has complied a full legislative history of the FAST Act and has also established a new FAST Act Reference Page as a one-stop-shop for information on the implementation of the law.
March 10, 2016 – The National Press Club held a luncheon on March 7 featuring Paul Wiedefeld, the general manager of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) since last November. This event follows a public plan recently released by Wiedefeld, as well as an editorial in the Washington Post. While the discussion focused on WMATA’s myriad problems, he took a pragmatic tone, acknowledging that issues have not been communicated properly to the public.
