September 8, 2017 – The U.S. Department of Transportation has issued a formal notice announcing the availability of $480 million in TIGER grants for surface transportation projects using funding appropriated in the fiscal 2017 omnibus appropriations act. Applications are due by 8 p.m. Eastern time on October 16, 2017.

Senate Autonomous Vehicle Bill Now Expected to Include Self-Driving Trucks

On September 5, the House passed the SELF DRIVE Act – a bill that zoomed through the legislative process in a few short months with bipartisan support (almost) completely throughout.

But on the other side of the Hill, the upper chamber continues to live up to its reputation of being – as President James Buchanan put it best – “the world’s greatest deliberative body.”
