January 12, 2018 – The U.S. Department of Transportation closed two more TIFIA loans in December, bringing the total loan volume for the Trump Administration’s first year to $4.1 billion. That $4.1 billion in financing will enable new transportation projects with a total cost of $13.7 billion.
January 10, 2018 – Representative Bill Shuster (R-PA), the chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, announced on January 2 that he will not seek re-election to the House this year and will retire at the end of this term.
January 12, 2018 – In the absence of the Trump Administration’s promised-but-long-delayed $1 trillion infrastructure package (which still may be released ahead of Trump’s first State of the Union address on January 30), the U.S. Department of Transportation is taking a strategic pivot to focus on steps that the Administration can take on its own to repair and expand the nation’s infrastructure.
