Senate Democrats Successfully Filibuster Bill With FY16 Corps of Engineers Funding

October 8, 2015 – Earlier today, the Senate fell eleven votes short of breaking a Democratic filibuster of a motion to take up the fiscal year 2016 Energy and Water Development appropriations bill (H.R. 2028). The vote was 49 yeas to 47 nays, with 60 “yea” votes required to break a filibuster and limit debate.
