USDOT Ended FY19 With $152 Billion in Undisbursed Cash

December 6, 2019 – New data from the Treasury Department shows that USDOT started 2019 with $157.2 billion in undisbursed funds, received another $76.1 billion in new funding during the year, and disbursed $80.7 billion. This, along with $420 million in lapsed funding, balance writedowns, rescissions, and transfers, left the Department holding $152.2 billion at the end of the year.

Strong Growth in Transportation Spending by States

December 6, 2019 – According to a new report by the National Association of State Budget Officers (NASBO) overall spending by states increased across the board in fiscal year 2019. The strongest growth rate last year came from transportation, even outpacing the growth in Medicaid.
