$3 Trillion House Bill Up for Vote Today; Includes Massive Muni Aid, Frontline Transportation Worker Pay Subsidies

May 15, 2020 – The U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to vote late today on a $3+ trillion coronavirus response bill which includes massive subsidies to state and local governments and $13 per hour premium pay for essential transportation workers.

May 15, 2020 – Last week BMW quietly released a new Voluntary Safety Self-Assessment (VSSA), which was posted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) website. The BMW VSSA is specifically for their Level 3 (L3) automated driving system, and offers a glimpse into AV development and an update where AV policy might be headed.

May 14, 2020 – House Democrats’ decision to base $11.75 billion of transit formula funding entirely on population to the 14 largest metro areas leaves several cities that are heavily transit-dependent out in the cold, while giving more money to larger cities whose residents don’t use transit nearly as often.
