June 5, 2020 – President Trump signed a new executive order yesterday evening purporting to use the declared national emergency relating to the coronavirus to activate legal authorities that would allow the expedition of federal environmental paperwork for infrastructure projects.
June 5, 2020 – On Friday, May 29, the House Subcommittee on the Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation held a hearing entitled “The Status of the U.S. Maritime Supply Chain During the COVID-19 Pandemic.”
Tuesday, June 9 – House Transportation and Infrastructure – full committee hearing on the impact of coronavirus on transportation workers (witness list here) – 1:00 p.m., webcast here.
June 4, 2020 – If Highway Trust Fund spending in the new surface transportation bill introduced in the House were paid for solely by raising gasoline and diesel taxes, the gas tax would have to be doubled by 2025.
