The House and Senate are in recess this week for the Independence Day District Work Period. There are no committee meetings scheduled for this week.

When Congress returns, the week of July 13, there are no transportation-related committee meetings currently scheduled. But the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will likely schedule a markup of the Amendment in the Nature of a Substitute to the Water Resources Development Act of 2026 (H.R. 9497).

In addition, we await House Ways and Means Committee action on the surface transportation bill, and if that happens, a possible House Rules Committee announcement on the amendment process for that bill as well.
