Shin-pei’s experience in practice and policy converges on transforming the built environment so that it is more accessible, equitable, and sustainable. Prior to TransitCenter, Shin-pei served as Director of Cities and Transportation at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace; the Deputy Director ofTransportation Alternatives; a founding member of the NYC office for ZGF Architects; the Chief Operating Officer of Project for Public Spaces; and a strategy consultant with a company serving the Fortune 500. She co-founded and directed Planning Corps, an organization that matches urban planners with community-based projects, whose work was selected for the U.S. Pavilion at the 2012 Venice Biennale for Architecture. Shin-pei serves on the Board of Directors for Transportation Alternatives, ioby, GehlInstitute, and is a member of the Brooklyn Eagles, an advisory board of the Brooklyn Public Library.
