Anna Allwright is a self confessed “transport geek” with nearly a decade of industry experience spanning strategy, marketing, government, and public affairs. She is passionate about sustainability and the power of public transport to create greener, healthier, more equitable and less congested cities. Allwright is committed to helping erode perceptions that public transport isn’t for everyone, and build a future mobility network that makes public and active transport the modes of choice for more people. In her role at Cubic Transportation Systems (Australia), she is responsible for leading the development and implementation of creative marketing and communications strategies for the Asia Pacific region. During her time at Cubic, she has implemented marketing and communications campaigns to support the roll-out of the award-winning Opal smart card ticketing system and the roll-out of contactless payments technology in NSW. She has also led the creation and implementation of communications plans for the NSW Intelligent Congestion Management Program and the QLD Next Generation Ticketing Program.
Jerome Horne leads TransitCenter’s strategies around increasing representative leadership and inclusive decision-making in the transportation field, change that is essential to advancing TransitCenter’s mission to improve transit in ways that make our cities more just and sustainable. Additionally, he plays an important role in determining best practices of agencies on rider engagement and works closely with our agency practice and advocacy teams to identify cities to target for replication of those practices.
Jerome comes to TransitCenter with experience from IndyGo and Foursquare Integrated Transportation Planning, where he worked in roles concentrating on proactive community engagement and the rider experience of using transit.
He lives in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn and enjoys taking walks through nearby Prospect Park. Jerome rides transit whenever possible, likes to bike, and curates his extensive collection of transit memorabilia known as the International Micro Museum of Transit.
Sam Longman is the Head of Corporate Environment at Transport for London. Longman is responsible for driving TfL’s corporate environmental performance, lead on embedding triple-bottom-line sustainability, responding to TCFD and wider sustainability disclosures. Leading TfL’s green financing strategy and environmental investable project pipeline development. He made the case and led the development and publication of TfL first ever Sustainability Report and Corporate Environment Plan.
TfL is the integrated strategic transport authority for London and one of largest public transport operators in the world. We regulate and contract for many vital transport services, renew and maintain an expansive and complex asset base, provide new infrastructure, are a landlord, and have a significant commercial portfolio, including property development and advertising. We directly employ around 27,000 people directly and over 100,000 indirectly. We have an annual spend of +£10bn, £6.7bn of which is through supply chains.
Longman leads on setting corporate environment policy and developing and implementing a corporate environment plan, providing strategic direction and reporting on progress toward environmental objectives, covering: Carbon, Energy, Air Pollution, Noise, Waste, Green Infrastructure, Invasive Species, Waste, Circular Economy etc Undertaking assurance activity and building capability across the business to meet our environmental objectives. He works with GLA and the Mayor’s team to deliver the Mayor’s Transport and London Environment Strategies.
