Fatalities have trended upward more recently between 2019 and 2021, likely due to the pandemic creating conditions for high traffic speeds and increased crash severity. The good news is that there is a slew of proven measures that can help reverse the trend.

July 28, 2023 – Over four years after the last efforts to enact legal authorization for self-driving cars went up in smoke, a House subcommittee this week held a hearing to explore new legislation.
DOT Requires Wheelchair-Accessible Airliner Lavatories (Eventually)
July 28, 2023 – The Department of Transportation issued a final rule this week mandating that airlines upgrade the lavatories in their single-aisle jetliners so that at least one restroom per plane is large enough for a wheelchair-bound person and an attendant to fit inside at the same time, with the door closed.
