FHWA Announces $196 Million in Fish Crossing Grants

August 18, 2023 – The Federal Highway Administration this week announced the winners of $196 million in federal grant money for a new program to provide fish crossings on federal-aid highways (below-grade, of course).

August 18, 2023 – Road traffic fatalities in the United States increased at the rate of 3 percent annually between 2011 and 2021. The largest increases (nearly 20 percent) happened during the pandemic years, largely driven by traffic conditions that promoted high vehicle speeds with poor enforcement.
