Highway Construction Cost Inflation Did Not Slow in 2Q 2023 – 15.3% Annual Rate

December 21, 2023 – Information released this week by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) shows that the cost of building highways increased by 3.8 percent in the April-June 2023 quarter versus the previous quarter, equivalent to a 15.2 percent annual inflation rate.

USDOT Announced Over $40 Billion in Discretionary Grants in 2023

December 21, 2023 – 2023 was the year that the unprecedented competitive grant funding provided by the bipartisan infrastructure law really kicked in at the U.S. Department of Transportation. By our count, the Secretary and the modal administrators announced over $40 billion in competitive grant selectees in 2023 using funds provided by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).
