Our national infrastructure requires sustained investment and innovation to continue to safely transport people and goods. With new and emerging technologies entering the market, key steps must be taken to ensure technology adoption without negatively impacting safety.

These tools can be applied to solve problems previously unsolvable and reduce the time people spend on manual tasks, but there are also concerns about the use of new technology by public agencies because of the serious, consequential duties many of them perform.

Spearheaded by state DOT leadership, the approach integrates advanced safety improvements and legislative efforts, marking a significant advancement in the commitment to achieving zero deaths on the roads.

March 26, 2024 – Yesterday, the Federal Highway Administration updated its quarterly index of highway construction costs, revealing that the cost index (the NHCCI) increased by 6.0 percent in the July-September 2023 quarter over the previous April-June 2023 quarter, an annualized rate of 23.9 percent per year.
March 28, 2024 – We all know women who have broken glass ceilings, won a seat at the table and found their voice to bring more women leaders to the workplace. As I reflect on Women’s History Month, however, I find myself asking, “Why isn’t it enough?”
