We have entered an era of unprecedented citizen participation in transportation planning. Officials at the USDOT are tearing down the federalist insulation that long separated layman from bureaucrat, encouraging citizens of all skillsets and backgrounds to participate in the design of America’s transportation infrastructure.
As Congress returns to work after August recess, it faces a Surface Transportation Board that is proposing to reverse years of economic success while putting a core industry at great risk.
September 7, 2016 -The USDOT Inspector General released a report on August 25 criticizing the Federal Aviation Administration’s NextGen air traffic control modernization research and development plan.

September 7, 2016 – As part of its annual Public Policy Preview Days that advance the 2017 public show, which opens on Friday, Jan. 27, the Washington Auto Show will feature a new partner in 2017: the Eno Center for Transportation. Eno, whose mission is to cultivate creative leadership and to impact emerging issues for the nation’s multi-modal transportation system, will co-locate its 2017 Digital Cities conference, Capital Convergence (CapCon), at the show site, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, on Thursday, Jan. 26.
