December 16, 2016 – Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx this week decided to move forward with issuance of a final rule requiring metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs) in many jurisdictions to consolidate. The final rule was sent to the Federal Register for eventual publication yesterday despite overwhelmingly negative comments on the proposed version of the rule from stakeholder groups and the public.
