New House COVID Bill Changes Airline Aid Conditions, Bails Out Aviation Trust Fund
May 15, 2020 – The House’s new coronavirus bill amends some of the conditions attached to earlier air carrier grants and loans provided by the CARES Act, and also contains a provision ensuring that the Airport and Airway Trust Fund will not run out of money in spite of the CARES Act’s suspension of the taxes that support the Trust Fund.

May 15, 2020 – The $3 trillion coronavirus bill that is up for a vote in the House of Representatives this week (H.R. 6800) includes a federal mandate for the use of face masks in the aviation, rail and bus transportation sectors.

Second House COVID Bill Focuses Transit Aid on Big City Population, Not Transit Use
May 14, 2020 – House Democrats’ decision to base $11.75 billion of transit formula funding entirely on population to the 14 largest metro areas leaves several cities that are heavily transit-dependent out in the cold, while giving more money to larger cities whose residents don’t use transit nearly as often.
