July 7, 2020 – The Trump Administration has issued the final rule updating the regulations implementing the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for the first time since the regulations were first issued in 1978. The final rule was announced by President Trump at a speech in Atlanta on July 15 and became official when printed in the Federal Register the following day.
July 17, 2020 – Weeks after the panel muscled a partisan surface transportation bill through the markup process, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee held a much different markup on July 15 to approve a bipartisan water resources bill by voice vote.
