July 23, 2020 – This week, the Senate Commerce Committee approved the nomination of Joel Szabat to be Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy, and the President nominated a longtime House staffer to fill the fifth and final seat on the Surface Transportation Board.
July 7, 2020 – The U.S. Senate returns to Washington next week for what is scheduled to be a three-week period leading up to a six-week August-September recess, and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is expected to unveil his party’s version of the next round of coronavirus-related relief aid next week.
July 7, 2020 – The Trump Administration has issued the final rule updating the regulations implementing the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for the first time since the regulations were first issued in 1978. The final rule was announced by President Trump at a speech in Atlanta on July 15 and became official when printed in the Federal Register the following day.
