July 7, 2022 – Not all critical transportation goals lend themselves to quantitative analysis. Despite my background in transportation equity analysis, or because of it, I believe equity is among this group of vital yet challenging goals.

July 1, 2022 – Since the COVID pandemic began, transit agencies have been trying to figure out when all their riders will come back. Although local bus ridership is bouncing back from post-pandemic lows, it is still no more than 70 percent of pre-COVID levels at many transit agencies, including LA Metro in Los Angeles and NJ Transit in New Jersey.
July 1, 2022 – The Biden administration this week kicked off a first-of-its-kind federal grant program to help communities nationwide address physically divisive infrastructure like highways, bridges, and railways that have historically divided neighborhoods and urban populations.

June 28, 2022 – The Texas Supreme Court on June 24 ruled, in a 5 to 3 opinion, that the private Texas Central high-speed rail project from Dallas to Houston can use eminent domain power to take property for right-of-way where the owner is unwilling to sell.
June 24, 2022 – There was a smattering of transportation nomination news in Washington this week.
June 23, 2022 – The House Appropriations Committee has released a draft bill that increases the regular budget for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ water resources program by $546 million over the amount enacted in 2022.
