CBO Accelerates Prediction of Gas Tax Decline; Sees Recovery of Aviation Tax Base
February 17, 2023 – As part of its annual budget outlook release this week, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office updated its 10-year federal excise tax forecast and predicts that the annual decline in gasoline tax receipts will accelerate slightly.
Biden Nominates Ann Carlson to Head NHTSA
February 17, 2023 – President Biden announced on February 13 that he will nominate Ann Carlson, the Deputy Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, to head that agency.
Building Tomorrow’s Transportation Workforce: New Eno Report Offers Guidance
February 15, 2023 – The IIJA and IRA together provided hundreds of billions of dollars to state and local governments for building and improving transportation infrastructure and curbing climate emissions. To be successful in meeting the mobility, equity, and sustainability goals outlined in these laws, these mega capital investments must be met with the right people and talent.
