Donna Chen is Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering Systems & Environment at the University of Virginia, where she is faculty affiliate of the cyber physical systems research Link Lab and Center for Transportation Studies. Her research focuses on sustainable transportation systems, in particular the impacts of new vehicle technology systems on travel behavior and the environment. Specific to autonomous vehicles, Prof. Chen has published on topics such as the pricing, ride-matching, fleet operations and charging management of shared autonomous electric vehicles. In addition to academic journal publications, her work has been featured in the Washington Post, PBS NOVA, and ASCE Civil Engineering Magazine. She is a member of the Transportation Research Board’s Committee on Alternative Transportation Fuels and Technologies and Committee on Transportation Sustainability.
