In January 2019, LA Metro launched a first-mile, last-mile mobility on demand (MOD) pilot with Via, offering shared rides to and from select rail transit stations. LA Metro and their partner research team collected robust data on the pilot, and Eno published several research reports evaluating how the pilot addressed contracting, data sharing, fare integration and accessibility. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the MOD pilot suspended shared rides, began allowing point-to-point rides, and leveraged its drivers to offer food delivery to customers with difficulty accessing food banks. In this webinar, researchers will examine data insights, share lessons learned during the pilot’s operation during COVID, and discuss what the region’s experience means for other agencies considering similar mobility on demand services.
