Earlier this week, the Eno Center for Transportation signed a new memorandum of understanding (MOU) with WTS International. Originally known as the Women’s Transportation Seminar, WTS his focused on the promotion and advancement of women in the transportation industry. Today, WTS has more than 8,000 members and 67 professional chapters of transportation professionals and university students across North America, with strategic plans to expand globally.
For Eno, the MOU is an opportunity for us to proudly formalize our longstanding relationship with WTS and look forward to working with them to advance our shared interests. Together, we can help advance the workforce, build equity across all sectors of transportation, and meet the needs of an evolving transportation industry.
The MOU seeks to recognize the common interests of both organizations to cooperatively pursue common goals and initiatives. For instance:
- Promoting career opportunities in the transportation sector to a diverse demographic, including women and minorities;
- Furthering the attraction, participation, connection, advancement, and recognition of women and minorities in the transportation industry; public, private, and academia;
- Providing professional development opportunities, advocacy, and to help advance the skill sets of a diverse workforce; thereby ensuring the sector’s future success;
- Encouraging the participation in organizational leadership activities at an international, national and local level.
Impactful partnerships like this are at the heart of everything we do at Eno and we look forward to working closely with WTS in the years to come.
