AUVSI Applauds ENO Center For Transportation’s Report on UAS Integration
ARLINGTON, Va. – Brian Wynne, president and CEO of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), released the following statement on the Eno Center for Transportation’s white paper, “Bridging the Gap: Sustaining UAS Progress While Pursuing a Permanent Regulatory Framework:”
“AUVSI shares the Eno Center’s goal for the safe and timely integration of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) into the national airspace. As the leading advocate for the UAS industry, AUVSI is working to shape the future course of the relationship between industry and government as we progress towards a systematized UAS regulatory framework. The meaningful report put forward by the Eno Center today gives AUVSI and our industry members data points to help inform areas where the nexus is falling short in the interim, where the regulator is not able to keep pace with the evolution of technology. Many of these issues were topics of open discussion during the FAA UAS Symposium that AUVSI recently co-hosted, where over 1,500 participants engaged with the FAA over the course of four days of virtual roundtables, panels, and speeches from FAA and DOT leadership.
“We have an open and steady dialogue with the FAA – built on decades of collaboration and trust – and with notable data like the Eno Center’s report, we are confident that we will be able to ‘bridge the gap’ to continue to allow industry to innovate safely as regulation evolves. AUVSI applauds the Eno Center for their excellent work categorizing and articulating areas of acute interest to the UAS industry with consequential data and analysis.”
